When Atlassian made the leap from jQuery to React across their entire Front-end stack, they asked Thinkmill to help them build Atlaskit - the industry leading Design System at the heart of their new UI. With our extensive experience in React, Front-end architecture, and open source Design Systems, we helped produce high quality components, the theme architecture and analytics integrations, monorepo and build tooling, and automated documentation systems. In addition to our contributions to Atlaskit, Thinkmill has helped re-architect Jira as a true React-powered SPA, and helped lead initiatives to standardise and improve Atlassian’s Front-end platform across the organisation.

From humble beginnings as a handful of Wordpress websites, Thinkmill has helped Vocal to transform into one of the fastest-growing long-form content platforms in the world, serving millions of visitors daily. As a primary design and development partner, we have architected and developed both a modern CMS back-end for Vocal’s network of publishing brands (using GraphQL and Node.js) as well as the Next.js Front-end and blocks-based story editor. Our process design and automation of high-volume moderation workflows has scaled to thousands of submissions per day, and we continue to focus on core product development with the recent launch of Vocal+ (a popular paid subscription offering).
